5 Self-Care Tips That Will Make You Smile Every Day

We have a deep love and respect for our Designing Me Sisterhood! For this reason we want to provide you constantly with new ways and ideas to practice self-love and self-care. Why is it so important to practice love for yourself? I have said this before and it is really truly something that is very true and dear to my heart. You cannot give what you don’t have! First we have to fill our own love tank with love and deep appreciation for ourselves, before we can even think of sharing it with others. You deserve to feel good! You deserve to feel loved…. because you are really special and absolutely worth it.

Here are 5 Tips that won’t cost you a cent!

  1. Movement

This is something you can do that will get your body moving and move some energy. Download a playlist and start moving to the beat and rhythm of your favorite songs. It could be dancing, exercise or just a 10 minute walk in nature. Try it… it’s Free!

2. Read an Inspirational Book

Nothing like a good Inspirational Book to get your vibes up. Choose authors that inspire you and feed your soul. Growth is inevitable and why not use useful tools to inspire you. Try it…It’s Free!

3. Take a Soothing Bath

Light a scented candle and run a bath with your favorite bath salts or aromatic oils. Just spoil yourself for a few moments and relax your body mind and spirit. Try it… It’s Free!

4. Meditation

Create a space where you can be still and not be disturbed. I like to light some incense and find a comfortable place to sit. If you battle to keep out unwanted thoughts that run through your head like a steam train, try to only concentrate on your breathing. The idea with meditation is to connect with yourself and detach from all the thoughts that keep your mind busy. There are a lot of apps you can try to start with. 5. Flow Yoga

Flow yoga is a term given to a style of yoga where the practitioner moves gracefully from one pose to the next and the class, or practice, becomes almost like a dance. Like the movement, Flow Yoga is also good for shifting and moving energy. This is also a great mindfulnes exercise, because you have to totally tune into your body to move from one position to another.
